Fun Days will be All Fun & Games
Starting this Friday night will be the return of Ogden’s grand celebration of Fun Days. This year’s theme is “All Fun & Games.”
“Our world is so fast paced these days, we don’t take enough time to sit around and be present,” Shannon Safley said, “That’s what I am hoping to see this year. Friends and family taking time to be in the moment together.”
Fun Days will have a variety of games in the park, and they hope people will take the time to slow down to enjoy the fun with those close to them.
Some of the new features to Fun Days this year will see a host of kids activities. They’ll have some water activities, a variety of Price is Right games, PBS STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) Trailer and Soil Bomb Creations.
The Ogden Community Women will be hosting an Amazing Ogden Race which is a scavenger hunt around Ogden on Saturday. There will be a Twister competition on Saturday hosted by Hammertime Fitness. Letter Eats by B and All Good Things are working together for Snackopoly which is a charcuterie workshop.
All the registrations can be found on the Ogden Fun Days website.
Some of the returning classic events will be the Friday night car show which grows every year and they anticipate another successful show. The carnival will be back and the Fun Days website has important information regarding wristbands and the sessions with wristbands to avoid confusion.
Bingo hosted by the Lions Club is also returning. Magic Matt will host his magic shows and balloon art. Pony rides will happen on Friday and Saturday while the Quilts of Valor is in the elementary school cafeteria on Saturday. The cornhole tournament will be back with new leadership and registration on the website.
There will be plenty of food chances during Friday and Saturday too. The Ogden High School senior class will have their food stand with proceeds helping the senior trip. Food vendors will be Los Primos Grill, Smokin’ Big Dawgs BBQ and the Dariette/Ardy May Coffee & Dessert.
The parade will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday with Walt Stroeh serving as the grand marshall for the parade.
“I have been wanting to recognize Walt for a long time,” Safley said. “A lot of his work has been done behind the scenes and has gone thankless. Walt, on top of being the most genuine human around, has been an asset to our community for decades and I look forward to him getting the recognition he deserves.”
