Marci Lass

Marci Kay Lass, 67, of Ogden, Iowa passed away peacefully on October 26th, 2025, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa.
Marci Kay Bargenquast was born on October 4th , 1958, in Des Moines, Iowa. Marci grew up in her early years in Indianola, Iowa. The family moved to Boone around 1968, where she lived through her teen years. Marci graduated from Boone High School with high honors.
On February 14, 1979, Marci married Gary Dean Lass, of Ogden, Iowa. Together they built a family focused around God, family and adventure. She lived for her children and then, grandchildren, tirelessly taking care of them, nurturing them and loving them.
Growing up, Marci worked as a young teen detasseling corn and walking beans and later she worked at the Eastern Star. In her early married years she was a homemaker where she could focus on her family. Soon she began to provide daycare for area families for 17 years, falling in love with each of the children and their families. In 2003 she began work at City State Bank in Ogden, where she worked for 20 years. She retired December 1, 2023.
Marci was a member of the church of Christ in Ogden. She loved the Lord and taught Bible classes for the little ones for decades, read her Bible daily and did a home Bible study every day. Marci was a huge fan of Mickey Mouse and hoped to take her entire family to Disney World. In the fall of 2023, she made her dreams, and those of her family, come true.
Marci is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Gary Lass of Ogden, Iowa, her children Daniel (Amanda) Lass of Ogden, Iowa, Kara (TJ) Klith of Ogden, Iowa, Jeremy aka Oly (Laura) Lass of Ogden and Charise Bailey of Polk City, Iowa along with her precious grand-children Samantha, Jude, Tyler, Jackson, Macy, Braden, Jase, Payton, Brody and Jayden, her brother Rob Bargenquast of Boone, Iowa and her sister Kelly Freeze of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her precious infant, Brandon Michael, her parents Bob and Helen Bargenquast and her sister Joy Davis.
A Celebration of Life will be open to the public as a come-and-go opportunity for anyone who would like to come visit the family and share memories and condolences. Marci was adamant that there is no black worn – only cheery colors, especially red, her favorite color. The celebration will be held at the church of Christ 502 W. Walnut, Ogden, Iowa on November 8th, 2025 from 1:00PM – 4:00PM.
All monetary contributions shall be forwarded to Saint Judes Hospital at Marci’s request.
