Golf course and club house are opening soon

The Club House Restaurant at Don Williams Golf Course will be open for business Monday, April 2. The golf course officially opens Sunday, April 15 at which time golf cart rentals will be available. (See ad on page nine.) The nine-hole course is open sunrise to sunset, seven days a week.

The Clubhouse restaurant is open for breakfast Monday through Friday, 7 to 10:30 a.m. Lunch is served weekdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. They are open for dinner seven days a week, from 4:30 to 9 p.m. They will be serving a brunch on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Bailey Porter, clubhouse manager, says they have a whole new menu. Pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and omelets are some of the items featured on the breakfast menu. Hamburger, hotdog, chicken wrap, chef salad and soups are the noon selections. An expanded dinner listing includes appetizers, two pasta selections, loaded baked potato among other items. You’ll want to sample their almond French toast and chicken teriyaki wrap, a pair of brunch specialties.

Porter, a 2015 OHS graduate, received her culinary arts degree from Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, triple majoring in culinary arts, baking and hospitality.
