Donna Muench

Donna (77) passed away due to a sudden illness surrounded by loving family.
She was born in Boone, IA to parents John R and Leora M (Eytcheson) Peterson and
lived in Ogden and Ames, IA until marrying Steve Muench in 1968. A Navy wife, they
lived in Long Beach, CA, and in 1972 moved to Apple Valley then Rosemount, MN.
Donna was born eight hours after Steve in the Boone hospital, bassinets side-by-side
and they’ve been together their whole lives (married for 57 years).
Donna’s continued education included AIB College of Business in Des Moines, IA and
Dakota County Vo-Tech Architectural Design, Rosemount, MN plus floral design
workshops. Smart, curious and a lover of learning new things. A mom of twins, she was
a dedicated member (term President) of the MN Mothers of Twins club.
Creative from head-to-toe she was a natural at architectural and interior design,
drawing, and her personal style. Even her daily handwriting was a work-of-art. A
seamstress too, including sewing her Japanese-inspired wedding gown, and in the 90’s
started her business, Felicity’s Garden, retailing her floral and holiday décor.
She was born to help others and was meticulous in her careers as a law firm assistant,
bank teller, financial bookkeeper, and 21 years caring for others as an Optometric
Technician until she retired in 2012; but not before being nicknamed “Madonna” when at
work.
Her most gratifying times were being Steve’s life-partner and Mom to their three
children, enjoying their accomplishments, hosting meals, games, and family sing-
alongs. She bragged of being with her grandchildren just hanging at the house and
going to their many activities.
California’s ocean beaches, and especially Maui, Hawaii were Donna’s happy-places
and where she and Steve visited several times.
Donna was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is deeply missed by her
survivors - her husband Steve, (children) Christopher Muench (Becca), Tracey
Eggerstedt (Shane), Keri Stenemann (Erik), (grandchildren) Steven Stenemann and
Chloe Muench, sister Gloria (Peterson) Vlatkovich (John), nieces and nephews, plus her
two cats, Rascal and Yowa, who miss her lap dearly.
Donna’s wishes were for a private family celebration. We hope you keep loving and fond memories of Donna in your hearts forever.
