Donald Christensen

Donald Dean Christensen, also known as “Chris” or “Danger” passed away at home on December 29, 2022, in Covington WA at the age of 91.

Don is survived by his wife, Lou of 70 years of marriage and children Lee Christensen of Covington, WA, Karen Baldwin of Snohomish, WA and David Christensen of Cedar Hill, TX. Don and Lou also have two grandsons and six great-grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by son Robert Christensen and older brother Allyn Christensen of Madrid, IA Don was born on July 4, 1931, in Kimballton, IA to Elmer and Helen Christensen.

Don enlisted in the Air Force in 1950. While in the service, he met his future wife Lou in 1952. After his discharge from service in 1953, Don and Lou and infant son in tow returned to the family farm in Ogden, IA. Don accepted a position with Hoffman La Roche in 1957 and was later promoted to plant manager in 1965. He retired from Hoffman La Roche in 1994. Don and Lou retired to Sun City West, AZ and eventually moved to the Seattle area to be closer to family.

“Celebration of Life” service will be held at Marlatt Funeral Home in Renton WA on Monday, January 23 from 12:30 – 1:30PM. Family interment service will be at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA at 2:30PM In lieu of cards or flowers, the family suggests donations to Wounded Warriors or Disabled American Veterans.
