Mary Meeker

  Mary Ann Meeker, 94, of Boone, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at the Boone County Hospital.

  

A private family graveside service will be held at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden, Iowa.

Mary Ann Barnum was born on August 7, 1931, in Medford, Oregon, the daughter of Joseph and Thelma (Goodlett) Barnum.

 

 She was united in marriage to Tex Lee Meeker in Port Hueneme, California.  They were blessed with two sons, Terry Lee and Ted Keith Meeker.  The couple later divorced.

The couple lived in Laredo, Missouri, prior to moving to Council Bluffs, Iowa.  While in Council Bluffs, Mary Ann worked at the Iowa School for the Deaf and First National Bank.  In 1970, they moved to Ogden where Mary Ann worked at Northern Natural Gas for many years until retiring.  Following retirement she worked at Johnson & Sons in Ogden.

  

In her earlier years, Mary Ann was active in Cub Scouts serving as a Den Mother.  She was an excellent seamstress and an avid gardener.

  

In addition to her parents, Mary was also preceded in death by her son, Terry Meeker; brother, Joe Barnum, sister, Edna May Barnum, and her great granddaughter, Claire Kramer.

 

 Survivors include her son, Ted (Donna) Meeker of Ogden, IA; her daughter-in-law, Aggie Meeker; five grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
