Billie Jane Miller

Billie Jane Miller, daughter of William Lowell Henderson and Florence Minnie (Bellinger) Henderson was born February 1, 1939 in Elko, Nevada and passed from this life October 21, 2014 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center at 75 years of age.

  Billie received her education in Dillon, Montana. She was united in marriage to Robert Leroy Chapman on July 31, 1958 at Denver, CO. with Shannon and Kelly blessing this union.   On February 1, 1965 she was united in marriage to Larry Miller at Omaha, NE.  Then at the age of 45 returned to further her education by attending AIB.

  She was a regional director for Avon in Ogden.  She owned & operated Billie’s Guest Home in Osceola for many years before moving to Grand River and opening up Billie’s Place in 1990.

  Billie was a member of Grand River Benevolent Club, Grand River Fun Days, and earned the Citizen of Year award in Grand River.   She was very involved in the community and politically active.  She enjoyed cooking, bird watching, painting, ceramics, word games, and was a great listener and friend to all in the community.  She was an avid reader and had a desire to learn and gain knowledge.  Her kitchen table was her center for conversations and entertaining.

  Those relatives who preceded Billie in death were her parents; brother, Steve Henderson.

  Billie leaves to cherish her memory; son, Kelly (Arvella) Miller of Urbandale, IA, daughter, Shannon (Rene) Bourgeault of Pueblo, CO; grandchildren, Meaghan (Travis) Drake of Evans, CO,  Michon Green of Pueblo, CO; great-grandson, Memphis William Drake of Evans, CO; brother, Douglas (Brenda) Henderson of Hartselle, AL, nieces, Dori (Doug) Donoho, Denise (George) Hakala, Elizabeth Henderson, Vonnie (Tim) Lesenne, Gwyn Jones, nephews, Ben Henderson, Jason Henderson, John Wesley Henderson, as well as many cousins and other relatives and many friends.

  Services will be held at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, Monday October 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.

  The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Kale Funeral Home.

  Interment will be in the Grand River Cemetery, Grand River, Iowa
