Bulldogs claim tough victory on Senior Night, win 44-41
On senior night for the Ogden football team, a junior stole the show as Austin Lentz bowled over Manson-Northwest Webster on Friday evening, 44-41.
Lentz powered his way to 286 yards on the ground on 35 carries and three scores.
“Austin had probably his gutsiest performance of the season having a season high in carries and yards,” commented Coach Jacob Burger. Despite being extremely undersized, Ogden finished the game with over 400 yards rushing.
“Lentz has been a consistent performer and once again proved to be in the discussion as a top running back in 1A.”
An exciting finish to the game occurred when with 28 seconds left Lentz broke off a 46-yard run to put Ogden in scoring position with just 19 seconds left. Lentz once again carried the ball for the go-ahead touchdown. An interception by Senior Danny Eslick sealed the deal and gave Ogden a come from behind victory.
