Dale Lingren
Dale Lingren, 87, of Ogden, IA, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 2, 2014, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. Pastor Wade Brandt will officiate. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Boone Veteran’s Council. Visitation will be Thursday, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Zion Lutheran Church. Dale Eldon Lingren was born April 4, 1927, in Boxholm, IA, the son of Floyd and Elsie (Frye) Lingren. He was a graduate of Jordan Community Schools.
Dale married Maxine Heldt Sept. 8, 1950, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. The couple lived and farmed north of Ogden until moving into town in 1990.
Dale was a member of Zion Lutheran Church; his pride and joy was his family, he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Maxine Lingren of Ogden; five children, Darrell (Georga) Lingren of Ogden, Elaine (Tom) Wilson of Ogden, Deanna (Bruce) Anderson of Boone, IA, Donna (Ted) Meeker of Ogden; and Alan Lingren of Ogden; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one sister, Ilene (Everett) Van Pelt of Perry, IA; three brothers, Lee (Danis) Lingren of Boone, LaVerne (Joan) Lingren of Ogden, and Larry (Wanda) Lingren of Boone; two sister-in-laws, Betty Lingren of Ogden, and Effie Lingren of Ames, IA; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, great granddaughter, Claire Marie Kramer; two brothers, Paul and Earl.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
