Town of Ogden welcomes its new postmaster

Angela Sonksen has finally reached her goal.

“Getting promoted to postmaster has been my goal ever since I started,” said Ogden’s new postmaster who took over duties in  here Friday, Sept. 8. For the past 19 years she has worked for the U.S. Postal Service. 

Sonksen’s first position with the postal service was as a part-time flex clerk in Stratford.  After 18 months she transferred to Boone and worked 14 years as a city carrier. For three years now, Sonksen has served as supervisor in Boone. During that time she has been filling in at other offices and calls that “the best training you can get.”

“I’m excited to be here and get to know the people, and help anyone with questions,” says Sonksen. “That’s what we’re here for.” Ogden’s part-time flex clerks Jo Capps and Kari Seiser are helping her with the transition.
