Tough couple of weeks for the Ogden football team

The Ogden football team didn’t have very much fun in their last two games, losing by a combined 102-6. The first game was a 49-6 loss to West Marshall in Ogden’s home opener September 2. Last Friday Ogden traveled to rival Van Meter’s stadium and fell 54-0 to the seventh ranked team in class 2A. The Bulldogs face Panorama at home this Friday.

West Marshall 49 - Ogden 6

Ogden got out to a hot start against West Marshall, leading 6-0 before turning over the ball six times allowing West Marshall to come away with an easy victory.

It first looked like it was going to be smooth sailing for Ogden. On the first drive, the Bulldogs were confusing West Marshall’s defense with loads of motion from their spread formation to eat away at West Marshall’s defense. They drove near West Marshall’s goal line before punching it in on a short Aaron McCutcheon run.

The next drive of Ogden’s was more of the same. They were moving the ball easily until they were within five yards of the end zone. McCutcheon got another but was hit hard and fumbled the ball which was recovered by West Marshall.
