Sweet treats for a good cause

It was just an idea that came to her mind after hearing about the local “Charlie Brown Christmas” celebration and the free will offering soup supper in support of a new ambulance for Ogden’s First Responders. As a newcomer to the Ogden business district, Mary Kelly wondered how their business could contribute. She came up with the idea of placing a tree filled with candy canes in her store, Twice the Story, located at 321 W Walnut Street. For each candy cane taken from the tree, you are asked to drop $5 (or your best good-will donation) into the jar. Kelly has flooded the tree with 240 candy  canes. “Of course our goal is to sell all of them,” says Kelly, “but personally, I think it would be nice if the community could rally and raise $500, and by doing it throughout the holiday season it can be our way of helping get the word out.”
