Site gets cleared for business

The Ogden Total Fitness building at 625 East Walnut was taken down Tuesday, April 17 to make room for a new Dollar General store. Dollar General, an American chain of variety stores,  purchased the property from Chad and Valerie Arnold who will be relocating to downtown Ogden in the former Patio Pros Building at 218 West Walnut Street.

“We are happy everyone is being patient with us throughout the process, and overwhelmed by the number of people offering to help,” says Chad who says they are hoping to have the fitness center up and going in mid-May. Customers should be able to maintain their current entry cards as they will be reusing the same key card system. The Arnolds say they are looking to add some free weights, and as for exercise classes, their goal is to try and find space in the new facility, but that is something they will just have to wait and see when they get inside. Right now Patio Pros owners Anne and Larry Thomas are making upgrades to the building before the new renters move in.

According the Chad, Dollar General wants to be open for business by the first of August. They will be erecting a 7,500 square foot store that will set on the northeast portion of the lot with green space adjacent the street. Parking will be located to the west and south.

Patio Pros has now relocated to 775 216th Drive in Ogden. Their contact number remains the same: 515-275-2260.
