Services set for George L. Busch
George L. Busch, 82 of Boone, died Friday, July 11, 2014, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, IA. Following cremation, a private family memorial service will be held and private family disposition of the cremated remains will follow the memorial service.
George was born in Fort Dodge Jan. 23, 1923, to Fritz and Rose (Hoefle) Busch. He graduated in 1949 from East Greene High School in Grand Junction, IA.
On Sept. 9, 1950, George married Madilyn Stitz. They lived 14 years south of Beaver, before moving to Boone in 1965.
He was a grain farmer in Boone County all his life. He loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of the Hunt and Fish Club of Boone. He loved spending time at the cabin in the timber with his dog, Champ.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father.
He is survived by his wife, Madilyn, his daughter Lori Burma and husband Jeff of Boone, four sons, Greg Busch and wife Barb of Rockford, IA, Tracy Busch and wife Joyce, Joe Busch and wife Lori, Marty Busch and wife Jody all of Boone, his 12 grandchildren, Sheri Butler and her husband Jeff, Cory Busch and his wife Christie, Kelli Niles and her husband Nick, Lisa Timm and her husband Andy, Jamie Busch and his wife Elizabeth, Kyle Busch, Tyler Busch, Kaci Busch, Logan Busch, Jared Burma and his wife, Trish, Haylee Burma, Cade Burma, and his 12 great-grandchildren, his brother Ray Busch and wife Judy, his sister Clara Clark and husband Chuck all of Ogden.
In memory of George L. Busch, memorials may be made to the family to be used at their discretion or to the Hunt and Fish Club of Boone, and can be sent to, 1733 205th Street, Boone, Iowa 50036.
