A salute to our 2018 Marching Bulldogs

The Ogden High School marching Bulldogs have completed two of their three contests of the year. The first, Sept. 22 in Fort Dodge, the North Central Marching Invite. Last Saturday the band performed at the Urbandale Marching Invitational. They conclude Oct. 6 with the Iowa High School Music Association Marching Band Festival in Fort Dodge.

¡La Vida! has been chosen as the 2018 show theme. Songs in their repertoire are “I Bet My Life,” “This is Me,” “Wake Me Up,” and “Viva la Vida.”

The Marching Bulldogs maintain an active marching season with performances at home football games as well as the competition events.

This coming spring, the band travels to Florida where they will march at Disney’s Magic Kingdom in Orlando. The 77 band members are involved in activities outside of band, Including choir, Student Council National Honor Society, football, volleyball, cross country, basketball, wrestling, track, golf, baseball, softball and much more. Band students participate in various performances and competitions throughout the year including marching band, jazz band, concert band, pep band and solo and small ensemble contest.

They are under the direction of Jeremy Britton, assisted by Tenea Fabray.

This year’s drum majors are Allea Klauenberg and Jacob Craven.
