The Rose Center - Offering recovery, opportunity, support and empowerment

Tim Bedford understands that for a person who has experienced mental health issues, isolation is the worst thing. That’s why he is so enthused about the opening of the “Rose Center” a drop-in center for adults with mental illness.

“With so much negative news being delivered around the concept of mental illness, this provides an opportunity for an expression of the positives and good things happening for people with this illness,” says Bedford.

Bedford, Executive Director of Central Iowa Recovery, is providing guidance, oversight and management of the new facility located at 920 6th Street in Boone. A grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony is planned for Tuesday, March 28 from 5 to 7 p.m.

“The Center is a state of the art concept that provides opportunities for individuals who are experiencing isolation, to engage and interact with peers as well as participate in ongoing curriculum activities designed to assist in the facilitation of recovery steps,” explained Bedford who has been working in the field over 20 years.
