OHS students host Memorial Day service at Glenwood Cemetery

For the third year now, OHS students will be hosting a Memorial Day Service. The service will be held Monday, May 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Glenwood Cemetery (west of high school). This service is open to anyone and everyone!

The service will feature students singing, reading poems, and sharing the history of Ogden in WWI. Pastor Rick Summerhays will give a short prayer, and the Boy Scouts will be raising the flag. Students have been preparing this program and look forward to sharing it with you.

Immediately following the service, students will lead a Cemetery Walk. This year, students will be sharing the stories of Hilda Nebbe Good and Mary Burgess. These two women lived long lives in Ogden and their stories will be brought back to life by sophomores Jenna Palmer and Alissa Millard. It is a great opportunity to hear some of the history of Ogden’s predecessors and celebrate their lives during Memorial Day.

Please take time Monday morning on Memorial Day to visit the Glenwood Cemetery. The students look forward to sharing their work with you, and more importantly the students are pleased to be honoring both soldiers and civilians who have gone before us.

In case of inclement weather, the service will be held in the High School Gymnasium.
