Ogden School District facility improvement projects move forward

During the past few months the Ogden Community School District has been planning for several major facility improvement projects. Facility projects are funded through the use of the district’s physical plant and equipment levy (PPEL) and the state-wide one cent sales tax.

The following projects are occurring this summer in the school district:

The first is the renovation of the high school media center. This project includes installation of new drywall, painting, new carpet installation and the purchasing of new furniture.

Second, is the replacement of two sections of roofing at the high school and minor repairs to the middle school roof. This is the first roof replacement that has occurred at the high school in nearly 20 years.  The high school roof sections that are being replaced are the sections on the two story wing of the building.

Our third project is upgrading the high school baseball field. Originally approved in 2011, this is the final stage of the athletic field project funded through the school district, Ogden Athletics Booster Club, and the Leonard Good Trust who has been instrumental in making this upgrade a reality for our student athletes and fans. The bids for this project were approved at the July Board meeting. The renovations are scheduled to begin on August 1 of this year.
