Memorial service for Tyrone Beckman.

       Tyrone “Ty” Beckman, 74, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at the Ogden Manor.

      Tyrone’s wishes were to be cremated.  A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at Swede Valley Lutheran Church south Ogden. Dennis Morgan will officiate.  Burial will be at Swede Valley Lutheran Cemetery.    Visitation will be Tuesday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Ogden.  For online obituaries and condolences please visit: www.carsonstappfuneralhome.com

      Tyrone Bradley Beckman was born on October 23, 1939, in Ogden, Iowa, the son of Philip and Laura (Fisher) Beckman. He graduated with the Ogden High School class of 1957.

      Ty worked as a farmhand and as salesman for Gillespie Auto in Boone, Ron Willey in Ames, and at Richey Motors in Stratford.  He later worked as a groundskeeper at Don Williams Lake for seven years.

      He was a member of the Boone Elks Club and Swede Valley Lutheran Church in Ogden.

      Survivors include his son, Troy Beckman of Atkins, Arkansas; two step sons, Doug (Ellie) Beckman and Dennis Beckman; one sister, Carole Boon of Carmichael, California; one nephew, Joel (Sarah) Carstens and their children, Corey and Daphne all of Carmichael, California; and many other family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

      Memorials may be left to the discretion of family.
