A long overdue thank you

As the music played, veterans, families and friends sat solemnly, staring off into space, absorbing every meaningful word from the Statler Brothers song “More Than a Name on the Wall.”

The song references the Vietnam Wall, a memorial honoring all who served, and most importantly, gave their lives fighting for their country in Vietnam.

Tens of thousands never came back alive. And the battle-worn soldiers who did were not welcomed with fanfare. Just the opposite. They faced severe ridicule from the many who opposed America’s participation in the war.
