Letter to the Editor

TO THE EDITOR

The upcoming election provides Boone County voters with an opportunity to improve the direction of the county attorney office.  Candidate Stephen Swanson brings to the table 7 years of very active prosecution, all in the state of Iowa.  Swanson has served in two county attorney offices, one county   being larger and the other being smaller than Boone County.  He will bring to our county a service characterized by aggressive prosecution, willingness to go to trial, excellent cooperation with law enforcement officials and a dedication to a fair and just application of the law.  Swanson will run an efficient office and will rein-in the rising expense budget that the current office has experienced during the past year.

Swanson, a life-long Iowa resident, earned a business degree and a finance degree from Iowa State University.  He earned his law degree from Drake University.  Swanson’s family roots date back over 100 years in our county.  He understands Iowa culture, Iowa methods, and Iowa values.

As our county attorney, Swanson will make Boone County a tougher place for criminals to operate, creating a safer county for all of us.  I urge you to support Stephen Swanson for county attorney.

Richard Larson, Pilot Mound
