Girls runner-up in Perry Tournament

Ogden’s volleyball squad had a great week starting off with a 3-2 win at Panorama Tuesday, Sept. 5. They then picked up three more victories at the Perry Tournament Thursday, before falling in the championship match to Dallas Center-Grimes.

“We had good communication and didn’t get down on ourselves and fought back,” said Bulldog Coach Samantha Sperling following the tournament. “We tend to play down to the level of our competition, which is something we need to work on as a team. In our championship game, we played Dallas Center-Grimes, who is a bigger school and had some bigger girls.  I felt like our girls didn’t play to their potential  knowing they were a bigger school.”

The Dogs opened tournament play defeating Coon Rapids-Bayard in two sets. They won against Perry 2-1 and Panorama 2-0.

Things slow down this week as Ogden has just one match, hosting Madrid Tuesday.
