Girls claim conference championship

The Ogden High School golf team had an incredibly busy week but it was definitely worth it as the Ogden girls came away as conference champions!

On Monday, the Ogden girls  were in Winterset to challenge for a conference title. The girls team blew everyone away to claim the title of conference champions. It wasn’t even close as Ogden finished a whole 40 strokes ahead of the second place team, Des Moines Christian.

Ogden didn’t have the first place medalist at this meet, but they did have the third, fourth, and fifth best finishers. They were Kylie Nichols with 97 and Hannah Carter and Maranda Wheelock tied at 98. Faith Mohr also had a great day, finishing fourteenth overall.

Two days later, the boys team had their conference meet in Madrid. It wasn’t as successful as the girls meet, but they still turned in a quality performance. The Bulldogs ended up in seventh place out of nine teams with 408 points. Panorama ran away with this competition with 314 points and the top three performers.

Ogden was remarkably consistent though. They all were right next to each other score-wise. They all ended up in between 100 and 107. Jade Thompson had the top score for Ogden at 100. He was 27th overall at the tournament.
