Gary D. Winebrenner
Gary Winebrenner, 78, of Jefferson, IA and Harlingen, TX passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Thursday, April 3, 2014. Graveside services were held Monday, April 7, 2014 at Beaver Cemetery, Beaver, IA. Pastor Deb Griffin of Central Christian Church in Jefferson officiated. Burial was at Beaver Cemetery.
Honorary bearers were Dennis Powers, Leonard Coffman, and the Emerald Grove Park Family, Harlingen, TX. Kenny and Deb Monthei sung Amazing Grace, The Old Rugged Cross, and In the Garden.
Gary was born on June 13, 1935 in Guthrie Center, IA to Ralph and Naomi Winebrenner. Gary married Barbara Stout on June 14, 1954 and together they had 5 children, Lanita (Ken) Cavanaugh of Woodward, IA, Kary (Terry) Winebrenner of a Grand Junction, IA, Larry (Darla Babcock) Winebrenner of Grand Junction, IA, Ruth (Michael) Denard of Wellman, IA and Dawn (Dan) Lee of Pineville, NC. After Barbara’s death, he married Esther Knapp of Jefferson, IA on Aug. 23, 2003 and blended their families with Cindy (Dave) King of Onawa, IA, Carolyn (Jim) Moreland of Boone, IA, Chris (Arnie) Kesselring of Bayard, IA, Jason Zepp of Boone, IA, and John (Jenn) Zepp of Jefferson, IA.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, brothers (Kerry, Bob, Clifford and Sammy), Sister Karen, and Step-daughter Catherine Lynn Zepp. He is survived by his wife, Esther and their children, brothers Alan, Billy, and Keith (Bill) and sisters Jean, Karla, Janice and Sandra, 27 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
