Garnering national attention for his coon hunting skills

You can see it in his eyes, hear the excitement in his voice when he talks about his experiences the past two years. He carries the same passion as his father, and grandfather.

Showing dogs is serious business for sixth grader Hunter Wisecup. He can tell you precisely what the judges are looking for. Not only are they analyzing how well he handles the dog, they are checking its confirmation - the eyes, ears, teeth, angles of legs, bones - looking for the coon hound that best represents the breed. His English coon hound, Sue, has shown well this year, Hunter himself has left quite an impression on the judges. It is obvious to them how much he has worked with his dog, the endless hours training and conditioning. Hunter even recorded a DVD on how to groom a dog and prepare for show, for which he was awarded a purple ribbon in 4-H.
