Eagle Lake church camp is a big summer draw

A total of 134 campers and crew members converged at Community United Methodist Church June 18-22.

Eagle Lake Camp staff come from all around the country, from Oregon to Florida. They are based in the mountains of Colorado and drive to locations like Ogden, spreading the gospel’s message in a very exciting and spirit-filled way. Although CUMC was host, the camp was supported by area churches. This year’s theme was “Your heart will be where your treasure is,” taken from Mathew 6:31.

“It was really an exciting week here,” said Alayna Longhorn, church office assistant. “We had gospel-inspired pirate skits, chanting in the hallways. The kids rocked out and danced in the sanctuary. They were greeted each morning with a cheering spirit tunnel that even included a pirate’s parrot on Friday. There were also large and small group activities and one-on-one encounters.”
