Dogs have no answer for South Central Calhoun

Bulldog woes at home continued with a 54-0 loss to the South Central Calhoun Titans. Ogden defense surrendered 483 total yards while the Bulldogs were held to 173 yards (-5 yards rushing). The local squad failed to cross midfield until late in the second quarter.

Ogden took the opening kick. After trading three and outs, the Bulldogs had the ball on their own 22 yard line, but netted only 4 yards in 3 plays and were forced to punt. Griffin Diggs’s punt was shanked off the side of his foot and gained only 7 yards.

On third and 5 from the Ogden 27, SCC’s Blake McAlister raced 27 yards for a touchdown. Ogden was forced to punt once again and with the Titans having the ball on their own 42 yard line Keagan Meyer took a short pass and raced 58 yards for another Titan touchdown. Ogden’s offensive woes continued and they were forced to punt, giving the SCC good field position. Meyers raced 49 yards on a reverse to put the Dogs into a 19-0 hole. Ogden put together its best drive in the second quarter, reaching the Titans’s 35, but time ran out.

The second half started as Meyers ran 70 yards with the second half kickoff to increase the Titans lead to 23-0 and the Bulldogs could never recover.

Ogden was led by Christensn with 178 passing yards. Lucas Elsner racked up 97 receiving yards and Diggs had 46 yards. Charlie Lake recorded 19 receiving yards and Ethan Snedden, 14.

The Bulldogs are home this week against Pocahontas Area in a Homecoming matchup.
