Denali Loecker throws no-hitter against WCV
The OHS girl’s softball team participated in a make-up game against West Central Valley on Friday, June 14. During which, Denali Loecker, pitching for the day, threw a no-hitter, resulting in a 6-0 shutout by the bulldogs. Also serving as leadoff batter, Loecker only saw one pitch throughout the entire game, the very first, of which she scored her 11th homerun of the season. She was intentionally walked the rest of night.
With that being said, Loecker is not alone in the hard work. Out of nine batters on the team, seven are batting above a 300. Both Lauren Kennedy and Jenna Palmer made major contributions with their hits this week, with Palmer driving the game-winning run against Earlham last week, while she consistently continues to put the ball in play. Kennedy on the other hand is giving teams quite a bit of trouble with her slap hitting and speed. Either she is getting on base herself where she is able to score runs, or moving players into scoring position.
