Cross country districts are Thursday

Lake Panorama once again hosted the WCAC cross country meet that was held last Thursday. The boys team finished fifth while the Lady Bulldogs placed sixth among their conference foes.

Ogden runners will be competing in the Class 1A state qualifying meet this Thursday at Eagle Grove.

“We approached the high school boys’ conference meet expecting a very deep and competitive field, with seven of the ten WCAC teams ranked throughout the season. Our times were much improved from when we ran this course a month ago, leading to a fifth place team finish,” said Ogden coach Ryan Kobliska.

Garrett Buxton made his first All Conference Team with an 8th place finish. He was one of only two underclassmen in the top ten.

Gershom Levi ran a very strong race to place 14th, only nine seconds behind Garrett. Blake Gregory, Jacob Hinman and Stephen Flynn finished within a few seconds of each other to round out Ogden’s scoring.

“Those guys fought hard to pick up a few extra places, as we were without two of our varsity guys tonight.

Our JV group showed a lot of improvement. Bryan Woodall and Rhett Johnson cut close to two minutes from their 5K time compared to last month’s race.
