Country Aire Mobile Home Park to close

Tenants at Country Aire Mobile Home Park located between Boone and Ogden along Highway 30 are in the process of finding new locations for their homes, this after being notified of the park’s upcoming closure.

According to the new owner, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is in agreement with the park’s lagoon shut down, saying that without upgrades it has become a potential public health and environmental hazard. He was also told several outstanding environmental violations are on file concerning the lagoon system.

“Closing down the park and lagoon was always Mr. Erickson’s idea and the Iowa DNR agreed this would be a solution to compliance problems,” commented Janet Gastineau, Environmental Specialist with the IDNR.
