Continuing the tradition

Joe Schmidt grew up just a few blocks away from Ogden’s Spinning Wheels Skating Rink. He spent many hours there and has lots of positive memories from those years. When the opportunity came for him and his wife to purchase the business from Charles and Clara Clark, longtime owners, they were thrilled they were able to do it.

“We hope to bring new life into this place that has had such a long history here,” Cheri said.

They have plans to remodel the restrooms, paint, update the sound system and music.

They will be open Fridays and Saturdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday afternoons from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. They also will arrange private parties. They hope to have a late skate once a month and are planning to continue the traditional games, Halloween Party and New Year’s Eve skates.
