CC season gets underway

The Ogden boys and girls’ cross country teams had their first meet of the season and placed fourth and seventh in the Gilbert Invitational held on the Iowa State University cross country course.

Andrew Stumbo placed first at the meet with a tremendous time of 17:25. He wasn’t the only Bulldog to medal as junior Hannah Booth placed eighth, finishing in 23:28. Both of their times were incredible and helped the teams place highly.

For the boys, they had a number of great times. There was a total of six runners who placed in the top 50 at the meet. That includes Jacob Hinman who placed 19th with an under 20 time at 19:34.

Overall the boys placed at 4th with a score of 107, 6 points behind third place at 101. South Hamilton finished in first place at 64 points.

For the girls, three runners for the Bulldogs placed in the top 50, including Booth. Camryn Buxton finished 26th with a time of 25:03 and sophomore Claudia Kester had a time of 26:34, finishing 29th. That helped the Ogden girls finish with 182 points good for seventh at the meet.

Ogden’s junior high runners will be joining the high schoolers this Thursday in a meet at Madrid. Next week the Bulldogs travel to Jefferson.
