Bulldogs score 2 wins to start season

Senior Griffin Diggs poured in a combined 54 points and the Ogden boys’ basketball team started the season with wins over Greene County, 57-46 and West Central Valley, 71-37.

Diggs scored 32 points in the 11-point season opening victory over Greene County here Monday (Dec. 2) and tallied another 22 in the rout at West Central Valley Friday.

Greene County

A strong second half showing lifted Ogden over Greene County. The Bulldogs outscored the Rams, 36-24 over the final 16-minutes to erase a one-point halftime deficit (22-21). Ogden claimed control of the contest with a 21-9 third period.

Diggs connected on eight field goals and 16-of-22 free throws to go with eight rebounds and assists each.

The game featured 52 fouls and 79 free throws as Ogden was 32-of-51 at the charity stripe. Green was whistled for 32 fouls and had five cagers foul out.
