Bulldogs picking up where they left off

“With a roster comprised of new runners and experienced ones who trained throughout the summer, we were eager to start our first race as a test of our fitness,” commented Ogden cross country coach Ryan Kobliska following last Thursday’s meet in Ames. “This meet presented us with a challenging course and strong competition.”

Teams from 26 schools packed the ISU cross country course Aug. 24 for the Gilbert Invitational. Ogden competed in the class B races comprised of 1A and 2A schools.

Kobliska said the summer miles paid off for many of the older runners, as the boys and girls finished with five total medalists. The girls team placed 7th while the boys were 4th, both equaling last year’s finish at this meet.
