Bulldogs look to continue success of last year’s 7-2 regular season record

When football camp concluded coaches Jacob Burger and Rick Hamilton, both had the same take on how it went. Hamilton thought it was one of the best camps he had ever been a part of in a long time, Burger concurred. They noticed the kids all had a great attitude and seemed to learn a lot.

“These kids are smart and get what we are trying to do,” commented second year head coach Jacob Burger. “It’s a different dynamic than last year. They really enjoy being together.”

The Bulldogs kick off their season Friday at Panorama. Burger says the Panthers are always good, but they lost their quarterback, so he thinks this could be an interesting game.

Ogden finished last year with a 7-2 regular season record before their first-round playoff loss to AHSTW.

“I thought we had a good season, there were a lot of high points,” says Burger. “This was my first year in the program so it took time getting to know each other. But the guys did a great job of meshing together.”

Every game last year was a battle where the Bulldogs usually came out on top. But it was the injuries piling up that hurt them in the end.

Throughout the off-season players spent time in the weight room, several even participating in some extreme weight lifting sessions.
