Boys CC team making some noise, Bulldogs break into the rankings

Ogden boys, after having finished runner-up at each of their first two meets, were included in the latest coaches’ rankings of the state’s top teams. They are currently ranked #12 in Class 1A. (See rankings below).

The Bulldog teams competed at Ballard and Panorama this past week. Runners were at Humboldt Monday (after presstime) and travel to Roland-Story for Thursday’s meet.

At Panorama

Last Thursday’s race at Panorama challenged runners with many hills, tight turns and narrow trails. It was also very muddy in some of the low-lying areas this year which Coach Ryan Koblisky said slowed race times considerably.

The varsity boys team finished first in this race behind a 3A Carlisle team and a very tough and determined Des Moines Christian squad who the Bulldogs will face again on this same course at the WCAC meet in October.

The Bulldogs finished with three medalists: Evan Klicker was 11th overall, Andrew Stumbo placed fourth and Trey Thompson held off a strong competitor and earned his third straight first place finish. Garrett Kahler finished 17th out of 87 JV runners.
