Sectionals May 11 at Carroll

The Bulldogs placed second out of the eight teams at Sectionals Friday, May 11 and are advancing as a team to Districts this Thursday, May 17.

“It has always been a team effort for us, but today we proved that fact even more so by taking our fifth and sixth golfers’ scores,” said Coach Doug Stoakes. “Preston Gronseth, our sixth man, earned a team best 87 and led us to a runner-up spot behind a very good Kuemper Catholic team.” Gronseth’s score put him in the top 10 of individual scoring at number nine. Kuemper Catholic had the number 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 golfers and was led by Cole Collison with a low score of 74.

Jacob Hildreth was three strokes behind Gronseth, at 90. Ryan Nichols and Seth Bishop tied at 93 strokes. Jade Thompson carded 97 and Jacob Kathman, 99.
