Accident on Hwy. 30 claims one life

According to Iowa State Patrol, one person died in a head-on crash Monday morning on Hwy. 30 that temporarily closed down both lanes of the highway.

The accident occurred just before 8 a.m. near the town of Beaver.

Witnesses reported a car traveling in the westbound lanes crossed into the eastbound lanes and struck a van, killing the driver of the van.

Two individuals were taken to the hospital. Their conditions are unknown. Names have not been released. The crash is under investigation.
